Quote of the day

"You cannot hold on to anything good. You must be continually giving - and getting. You cannot hold on to your seed. You must sow it - and reap anew. You cannot hold on to riches. You must use them and get other riches in return."

"Little Talks"

Authors Note: This is a song that some people might of heard at some point, but they probably never thought what the song really meant. The song "Little Talks" by Monsters and Men is a song that is about love and loss. In this song, there are two people singing. I wrote this piece in the guys point of view. The lyrics are in Italics and what I wrote my interpretation underneath each section of the song.

Hey! Hey! Hey!
I don't like walking around this old and empty house
So hold my hand, I'll walk with you, my dear
The stairs creak as I sleep, it's keeping me awake
It's the house telling you to close your eyes

Whenever I see you my dear, you don’t seem to know who I am. All I want to do is help, but I know there is nothing I can do. I will just sit by your side. I will guide, watch, follow you to wherever you may wish to go.

Some days I can't even trust myself
It's killing me to see you this way

'Cause though the truth may vary
This ship will carry our bodies safe to shore

Hey! Hey! Hey!

There's an old voice in my head that's holding me back
Well tell her that I miss our little talks
Soon it will be over and buried with our past
We used to play outside when we were young
And full of life and full of love.

It’s killing me to see you this way, my darling; to see the glimmer disappear in your eyes. When you talked to yourself, I worried for you. You saw things that weren't there. I kept telling you that your mind was playing tricks on you, but I never knew if you believed me. You say that there is a voice holding you back, but listen to that voice my love. It will show you the way.

Some days I feel like I'm wrong when I'm right
Your mind is playing tricks on you, my dear

'Cause though the truth may vary
This ship will carry our bodies safe to shore

Hey!
Don't listen to a word I say
Hey!
The screams all sound the same
Hey!

Though the truth may vary
This ship will carry our bodies safe to shore

Hey!
Hey!

You're gone, gone, gone away
I watched you disappear
All that's left is the ghost of you.
Now we're torn, torn, torn apart,
There's nothing we can do
Just let me go we'll meet again soon
Now wait, wait, wait for me
Please hang around
I'll see you when I fall asleep

I sat by your bedside; I watched you disappear. We are now torn apart, and there is nothing I can do to bring you back to me my sweet. But please wait for me! I never wanted you to go! I hope you understand that I’ve always loved you.

Hey!
Don't listen to a word I say
Hey!
The screams all sound the same
Hey!
Though the truth may vary
This ship will carry our bodies safe to shore

Don't listen to a word I say
Hey!
The screams all sound the same
Hey!

Though the truth may vary
This ship will carry our bodies safe to shore

Though the truth may vary
This ship will carry our bodies safe to shore

Though the truth may vary
This ship will carry our bodies safe to shore

All life will end one way or another, but until then my darling, wait for me because we will see each other some day...

  2. This song is so sad :,( I never really knew what the song meant until like last week... I like your little excerpt at the end and like how you took verses from the song and put them in it :)
